Watch: An eco-friendly smartphone is made of grass, wood
The smartphone shell is made from grass and the internal parts are refurbished
Most mobile smartphones look alike these days. However, the internal components are what make up most of the smartphones features. But what Sean Miles from Design Works did to this smartphone is mind blowing.
The BBC reported that Sean Miles has designed the smartphone entirely from recycled and natural products. The case is made from recycled resin and grass clippings, which essentially behaves like carbon fibre. The buttons are made from wood and all internal electronics are used from recycled smartphones.
The smartphone is a proof-of-concept, and the success has lead the team to think it it can be made on a mass scale.
