AP bifurcation: IAS officers refuse to move to Telangana
Many officers moved the Hyderabad bench of CAT challenging the allotment process
Hyderabad: Interestingly, most of the All India Service officers who moved the Central Administrative Tribunal against cadre allotment were not willing to go to Telangana.
IAS officers, Somesh Kumar, C. Hari Kiran, S.S. Rawat, G. Anantha Ramu, A. Vidya Sagar, J.R. Anand, Srijana Gummalla, L. Siva Shankar, K. Amrapali, Ronald Rose, Karuna Vakati and Vani Prasad and Dr P.S. Raghavaiah, IFS and IPS officers Abhilasha Bisht, A.V. Ranganath, Santosh Mehra and M. Shiva Prasad moved the Hyderabad bench of CAT challenging the allotment process.
The tribunal also granted an interim stay in favour of Somesh Kumar, A. Vani Prasad, Karuna Vakati and IPS officer M. Siva Prasad directing the Centre and AP and Telangana governments to continue their services in Telangana in their current posts.
When their petitions came up for hearing on Wednesday before a two- member bench comprising B. Venkateshwara Rao (Judicial) and M.S. Ranjana Chowdary (Admin), the counsel Jayaprakash Babu appearing for the Centre urged the bench that another four weeks is required to file the counter in all the 20 cases moved by the officers.
He urged the bench to declare the applications of IAS officers A. Vidya Sagar and J.R. Anand and Raghavaiah IFS as non-maintainable as the Centre has allotted them to AP and Telangana as sought by them. The cases filed by IPS officers Santosh Mehra and others were posted to April 16.
