4 medical students killed in car crash

Students were on their way home after attending classes
Karimnagar: Four medical students died on the spot as their car rammed into an RTC bus at Thegalaguttappalli village on the outskirts of Karimnagar on Wednesday. Karimnagar rural SI L. Srinivas said the deceased were identified as Rachuri Rahul, 20, from Bodduppal in Hyderabad, Phirangi Navakanth, 20, from Parkal in Warangal, Mahesh Naik, 20, Acchampet in Mahaboobnagar, Gorre Nani, 21, Devikonda village in Karimangar. All of them were studying MBBS II year at the Pratima Institute of Medical Sciences located at Nagunur near Karimanagar city.
The car driven by one of the students collided with the bus at a curve near the village, resulting in instantaneous death of the four medicos. The students were returning to the city after attending classes. The bus, belongs to Karim-nagar II depot.
The bodies of the students were trapped inside the car as its rear was totally damaged. Police rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies using a JCB. Based on a complaint from management of PIMS, a case was booked against the driver of the bus, Srinivas Reddy, for negligent driving. Postmortem was done at the civil hospital. PIMS dean Prof. A. Vivekananda said the students were good at studies.
