Sonakshi and Shatrughan Sinha to play father-daughter onscreen
However the father-daughter duo will not share screen space in A R Murugadoss' 'Akira'
Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha is currently undergoing rigorous martial arts training for her upcoming film with A R Murugadoss titled ‘Akira’. The film also stars Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan and director Anurag kashyap.
According to a report in DNA, Sonakshi and Shatrughan will play real-life father and daughter on screen as well. A source told the daily, ““When Murugadoss approached Shotgun, the actor was told he played the film’s lifeline. Shatru plays Sonakshi’s father in Akira. But his character dies while Sonakshi’s character is a still a child. So all of his scenes are with the child actor playing Sona’s childhood avatar. Later on, his voice serves as a guiding force in Sona’s life. But they never come together face-to-face.”
However Shatrughan wants to share screen space with his daughter in at least on sequence. The team is now making an effort to write such a scene in the original script.
Earlier the film was believed to be the Hindi remake of the hit Tamil film ‘Mounaguru’, however the report confirms that the film is Murugadoss’ first original script in Hindi.
This is the second time Sonakshi and Murugadoss have come together for a film, they previously worked together on ‘Holiday’, which was a remake of a Telugu blockbuster.
