Mumbai: It’s finally here! Strap on as ‘Piku’ takes you on a journey with her pesky and cranky old father on the streets of Kolkattam, in this one of a kind family drama.
Director Shoojit Sircar definitely couldn’t have found anyone better than three stars- Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan for the character roles. A quirky, comic father-daughter story, the film derives its title from Satyajit Ray’s short film Pikoo’s Diary.
It explores the relationship of father-daughter duo, Amitabh and Deepika. The arguments between the two have been subtly highlighted. It is not exactly a piece of cake for Irrfan who dons the hat of a mediator between the two. The trailer of the film is warm and endearing.
In an innovative marketing strategy, the makers had released a video invite by Deepika Padukone for the film’s trailer launch. They invited media persons to not just cover the trailer launch but also bring their parents along to meet her and rest of the cast and crew of this family comedy drama.
Get ready to glue yourselves to your seats and stare in awe and bewilderment as Deepika, Amitabh and Irrfan take the screen in on May 8, 2015.
