Japanese city sets world record for most people sitting in one chair
The group succeeded in squeezing in together during their second attempt
Are you willing to share your seat? Nearly 2000 people in Japan are. According to WallStreet Journal 1,831 people sat on a single chair in an attempt to set up a world record on Sunday in Yamagata city. These people gathered at Takatomi junior high school and successfully sat in one chair, the city said, breaking the previous world record of 1,666 people set in September 2013 in Macau.
The group succeeded in squeezing in together during their second attempt and the achievement was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
What might seem like an easy task is actually quite tedious since people struggle to keep balanced and not breaking the line. The group failed in a first attempt, but the second time they tried they could stant for more than a minute, as the ruling Guinness World Records organisation states.
