IAS officer DK Ravi’s father-in-law threatens to join protests
Bengaluru: IAS officer D.K. Ravi’s father-in-law Hanumantharayappa has warned that he would join the protests if the state government does not hand over the investigation to the CBI.
At his residence in Mallathalli on Sunday, Hanumantharayappa told reporters, “The state government has assured us of handing over the case to CBI. If it steps back from its word, I will also join the ongoing protests by various organizations, demanding handing over of the case to CBI. Even Congress senior leader S.M. Krishna had assured us that the government will hand over the case to CBI. If it is not done, even I will resort to protests.”
He also said that there was no point in making the CID interim report public. “As the case is still under probe, it will be meaningless if they reveal the details of the half completed investigation. Also, it would dilute the seriousness of the issue. The government had told me that the case will given to CBI on Monday. We are waiting for the same,” he added.
Further, he said that his daughter Kusuma was not keeping well after Ravi’s death. “The doctors visits home and treats her everyday and she is recovering.” Meanwhile, Union Minister for Law D.V. Sadananda Gowda visited Kusuma’s house on Sunday.
