Gurgaon: A 16-year-old American national has alleged that she was raped by a 21-year-old person of African origin in a guesthouse, police said on Thursday night.
Gurgaon police spokesperson Rajesh Kumar said that the victim, who is pursuing her studies via correspondence, lives here with her mother.
She met the accused, identified as David, on Facebook and they developed a friendship, the spokesperson said.
According to police, the victim has said that the accused on March 17 took her to a guesthouse in Sector 38 here and allegedly raped her there. Medical examination of the girl at AIIMS has confirmed rape, police said, adding that a case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC was registered yesterday in this connection.
No arrests have been made yet in the case with the police claiming the victim's family was not co-operating in the investigation.
