Most of us have dreaded going to school for a math exam and sometimes managed to slip out of the horror by making up an excuse. But this seven-year-old in Uttar Pradesh did not have it easy. According to reports, the 40-year-old Bhagat Singh is a security guard from a village near Mathura, tied his daughter to his bike with nylon ropes and dragged her to school as she refused to write a math test. The journey however was captured on camera and unfortunately this led to his arrest.
He was arrested under Section 323 of the IPC (causing hurt) after the visuals quickly went viral over the Internet. A day later, the 40-year-old was let out on bail.
Indian Express reports that the father's insistence stems from his poor financial condition since he earns Rs 7,000 and supports the education of the children apart from running the family.
While the father's step to better his daughter's education seemed rather extreme, social media agrued that this was the other extreme women empowerment.
