WC 2015 IND vs BAN: Rabindranath Tagore, the man who bats for both teams
Mumbai: Former Bangladesh cricket captain Habibul Bashar rightly said that the Tigers are comfortable playing against Team India. Not only they are neighbours but the culture is more or less similar between the nations. The spirit could be felt on Thursday morning at Melbourne when both the teams from the subcontinent lined up for their respective national anthems before the ICC World Cup quarterfinal clash. Why? Both the hymns are written by poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Tagore wrote the song ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ (My Golden Bengal) – the national anthem of Bangladesh now – in 1905 during the first partition of Bengal when the Britishers had decided to split Bengal into two parts – East Bengal and West Bengal.
The Indian poet also wrote the Indian anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and after 100 years, he is driving the social media crazy. One man is representing both the teams in a knock-out encounter.

‘Jana Gana Mana’ was selected as the Indian national anthem on January 24, 1950 before the country became republic.
Poet Javed Akhtar tweeted to say that whoever wins the cricket match, Tagore will never lose.
Whoever wins Tagore can't lose Ironically anthems of both the countries are written by him Nevertheless my best wishes to team India. Jai ho

Even Google added to the bonhomie creating a doodle with the colours of India and Bangladesh flags.
