Abhishek Kapoor files case against Excel Entertainment over 'Rock On 2' script credit

Mumbai: Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor has filed a case against Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment for not giving him script credit in the sequel of ‘Rock On’. The hearing is to be held today at the Bombay High Court.

Abhishek claims that he and writer Pubali Chaudhuri had been working on the script since 2011. But due to some creative disagreement with the company, Pubali secretly registered the script under her name. In the lawsuit filed, Abhishek blames Pubali for the breach of trust. He has requested the court to stop production of the film and to instruct the producers not to enter into any third party agreement.

When Farhan Akhtar was asked to address the issue, he said it would be better the court makes the final decision, and he is still in good terms with Abhishek.

However, Pubali has a completely different story to narrate. Allegedly, she filed a complaint against Abhishek with the Film Writers Association last June, as he registered the script of ‘Rock On 2’ solely written by her.

The film slated to go on floors in August stars Farah Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Shraddha Kapoor.
