Andhra Pradesh: US-based data centre company Pi Datacentres plans to invest Rs 600 crore to set up a facility and expects to start operations from March 2016. Pi Datacentres founder and chief executive Kalyan Muppaneni said the company would invest Rs 600 crore in the data centre and operations would commence from April 2016.
The data centre would be a purpose-built green field facility with a constructed area of more than 5 lakh square feet, powered by a dedicated on-site electricity sub-station that can support up to 60MW. The site would host a facility which is being described as South India's first Tier-4 certified data centre infrastructure platform built to global standards. "We would equip the data centre with state-of-the-art technology and provide our customers with uninterrupted and unmatchable services of global standards."
"Our facility will create job opportunities for over 300 highly skilled employees and indirect employment to more than 2,000 people living in surrounding areas. We aim to achieve $100 million in revenues by end of 2018 and also plan to expand our operations depending on our customer requirements," said Muppaneni.
