Check out: How weather and pitch may shape up for the India vs Bangladesh quarterfinal
Melbourne: India would be eager to continue their victory march and seal a place in the semifinals as they take on Bangladesh at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Here is how the weather and pitch may shape up for the game:
Weather
The rain Gods are going to be kind as there’s no chance of rain marring the second quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. The maximum temperature in Melbourne will be 32°C while the minimum temperature will be approximately 12°C.
Pitch
As in the past, the MCG wicket will assist the batsmen and unlikely to play any mischief. India, in their previous game at Melbourne posted a 300-plus total against South Africa and it won’t be too surprising if they manage to do so against Bangladesh, if batting first.
Key players
Ravindra Jadeja
He has been criticised and considered as one of the very few weak links in the Indian cricket team this World Cup. Cricket experts were not too impressed with his poor show against Zimbabwe. However, Jadeja has shown a tendency to strike back when the odds are against him.
Taskin Ahmed
While Taskin has not enjoyed a good run in the ongoing World Cup, the Bangladesh medium pacer’s good show against India on his debut will encourage him to do well against the MS Dhoni-led Team India.
