Hyderabad: An unidentified woman in her late 30s was found dead early on Tuesday morning in Secunderabad. The victim’s body was found naked at a deserted spot behind the Old Gandhi Hospital building with injuries on her neck and other body parts.
Police suspects that she was raped and the perpetrators were under the influence of alcohol. Cops are also checking if the woman was kidnapped by the offenders.
According to the police, the woman’s body was found in the Old Gandhi hospital compound on Tuesday morning by the Metro Rail workers, who informed the local police.
“The woman had been stabbed multiple times with a broken liquor bottle. Her clothes were torn and there were signs of resistance from the victim,” said Market police inspector R.G. Shiva Maruthi.
The victim has three fatal injuries on her body. “Two are on her neck, and one near her abdomen,” said the inspector.
The investigation officials said that the forensic doctors are yet to confirm the rape and the cause of death. The post-mortem report will reveal all the details, said the officials.
A police dog ran towards the Rethifile bus station following the smell of assailants. Cops have collected CCTV footages from a private establishment to find out the movement of the accused people. The Market police has booked a case and has started an investigation.
