SHE teams for all Telangana districts
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to have SHE teams in all major cities and towns in the state from April to check crimes against women.
The novel concept was initiated in the Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits between October and December 2014.
The government said in the Legislative Assembly on Monday that the experiment proved successful in providing safety and security for women. Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said 100 SHE teams were formed for Hyderabad and 60 teams for Cyberabad, each comprising one sub-inspector, one ASI or a head constable, two constables and a women constables, one of them with a discreet camera, all in civil dress.
“We are planning to deploy two teams in all major cities and towns covering all the districts. The teams are expected to begin operations from April 1 this year,” Mr Reddy said.
