Lucknow: Days after a bride refused to marry the groom who could not solve a simple mathematical problem, another bride walked off from the marriage venue when the groom did not bow to “accept her garland”.
According to a police official, the bride and the groom were working together in a multinational company in Pune when they fell in love and decided to get married.
The wedding was taking place in Ghaziabad over the weekend and the couple was set to exchange garlands when the groom’s friends lifted him high and the bride could not garland him. This happened thrice and the irritated bride then refused to marry the groom.
Arguments between the two sides intensified and the police had to be called in, but the bride remained firm on her decision of not marrying the groom.
Finally the police intervened and settled the issue with the groom’s family paying a sum of Rs 5 lakhs to the bride’s family for the expenses incurred in arranging for the wedding function.
