Elephant loses patience after drunk man taunts it in enclosure
A man in Sri Lanka was almost trampled to death by an elephant after he teased it continuously in an inebriated state. The incident occurred at the Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka, which is a reserve forest for elephants. The park is home to 250 resident elephants.
The intoxicated man began teasing the elephant by sitting in front of it for sometime. When the elephant didn’t react, the man slid on the ground and lay down flat in front of the animal. By then the elephant had started losing patience.
In a swift movement, the elephant let out a bellow and almost dragged the man with its trunk. Passers-by who were recording the entire incident on their mobile phones, chased the animal away, before taking the man away to a hospital for treatment.
The man’s need for an adrenaline rush could have got him killed. Watch the entire video here.
