Mumbai: Though called a gentleman’s sport, cricket is not all that gentle. It does switch the wild button and with the advent of T20 and Indian Premier League, it only gets hotter. There have been instances of couples caught making out in the stands to spectators running around the pitch naked.
In 1989, British singer-songwriter Sheila Nicholls ran around Lord’s Cricket Ground naked taking everyone by surprise. She was a 19-year-old student back then. Not only that, she also did a cartwheel in front of MCC members. English cricketer Paul Jarvis – a 12th man – enjoyed the view with his binocular from the balcony.
Once, a man took a full sprint from one end of a cricket stadium to the other before disappearing in the meadows. The players stood amused.
