WC 2015 report card: Unfamiliar names in batting, bowling charts
Sydney: The first leg of the ICC World Cup 2015 is over with its twists and turns. So much so that the highest run-makers and wicket-takers’ list will turn many heads. Why? The minnows are in the group too.
Among the leading run-scorers, United Arab Emirates’ Shaiman Anwar has found a place with 309 runs, above South Africa’s Hashim Amla (307) and Zimbabwe’s most experienced batsman Brendan Taylor (295).

On the other hand, the bowler list is not topped by a Dale Steyn or a Lasith Malinga as expected. Out of nowhere, a Scottish is sitting at the top. Josh Davey has claimed 14 wickets in the tournament so far above South Africa’s Morne Morkel (13) and New Zealand’s Trent Boult (13).
Unbelievable, isn’t it?
