Telugu Desam Party MLAs ready to apologise in House
TDP legislators went round the Assembly premises carrying placards and raising slogans
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam legislators led by E. Dayakar Rao on Wednesday said they were ready to tender an apology in the Assembly, following the incidents that led to their suspension for the rest of the Budget session last week. But, they alleged, they were being barred by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who feared that they would grill him on the government’s “anti-people policies”.
“Government should lift the suspension and allow us to attend the Assembly. But the government is trying to stifle our voice. If the government continues like this, we will go to people,” Mr Dayakar Rao said.
The legislators went round the Assembly premises carrying placards and raising slogans condemning their suspension. They began a rally from the Assembly to Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to Governor E.S.L Narasimhan but were arrested and taken to the Goshamahal police station and let off. “It is a black day,” he said.
