Watch: Here's how era of 40s was revived for 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy'

The film helmed by Dibakar Banerjee features Sushant Singh Rajput

Mumbai: Dibakar Banerjee's next film, 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' is an interpretation of war torn Calcutta during the 1940's and follows the first adventure of Byomkesh, fresh out of college, as he pits himself against an evil genius who is out to destroy the world. The team had to do a lot of research to get the facts right. But the hardest part was to recreate the heritage era of 40s.

He finalised Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh for the movie as he believed that the actor looked 'very quiet, self-absorbed and withdrawn', all that was essential for the role.

The film that is co-produced by Yash Raj Films and Dibakar Banerjee Productions recently released the second trailer of the film. The movie that is a mix of comedy and mystery, is expected to release in 2015.
