Hyderabad: Two women succumbed to swine flu in the state, taking the death toll to 71 this year. One of the victims, aged 35 from Santoshnagar, was in her last trimester of pregnancy. Dr K. Narsimulu, nodal officer at Gandhi Hospital, said, “She came with severe complications in the afternoon. By evening her condition had deteriorated and there was very little that we could do.”
Her swine flu positive report came after her death, the third time this has happened.
A senior doctor said, “The samples are being sent immediately but there have been cases where reports have come after two days. We have complained to the director of Institute of Preventive Medicine.”
The other victim was a 60-year-old from Hyderabad and was undergoing treatment for three days.
