Hyderabad: Woman gangraped, culprits absconding
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman was gangraped by three drunk men at Kukatpally. The three men came to her house in Kukatpally for a liquor party and sexually assaulted her in an inebriated condition. The rapist trio, who were known to the victim, fled after she approached the police.
The woman, who is a labourer, has given three names to the police. They are Srinivas, manager in a construction company, Venkat, a driver with a private travel firm, and Ravi, an autorickshaw driver. The three are residents of Nizampet. Police said Srinivas was having an extramarital affair with the victim since a year.
“On Tuesday night Srinivas came to her house for a liquor party. He also took his two friends with him and convinced her to allow them. During the party they made her consume liquor and when she became drunk, they overpowered her. They raped her one after the other and left the house,” said inspector K. Purushotham.
The woman was reluctant to lodge a complaint the next day fearing the victims. However, she approached the police on Thursday and lodged a complaint.
The cops booked a case of rape against the three under Section 376. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the culprits.
Police said the woman has undergone a medical check-up and her condition is stable.
