Narendra Modi invites ideas to design a new mobile app for PMO
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi plans to launch a new mobile app, which will allow Indian citizens to get the latest updates and connect directly to the PMO. The government has joined hands with Google and announced a MyGov competition as a part of the Digital India program.
Apps are usually designed from the perspective of giving the users what the developer or service wants to offer them. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sighted a different approach for the PMO app. He plans to welcome ideas and suggestions into building an app, for the PMO, which will deliver what information citizens' desire from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The newly introduced MyGov online competition by Google, encourages young minds to create the design, content and features of the upcoming PMO app.
The MyGov contest has been divided into three phases:
- One needs to create his/her account on www.mygov.in.
- On completing the registration process, you can present/type out your creative ideas for the PMO app. The last date for sharing your ideas on www.mygov.in is March 12, 2015.
- After submitting your ideas, developers will then be invited to submit rough blueprints (wireframes) for how they would build an app for the Prime Minister’s Office. The blueprints of the screen designs should reach the Google desk by April 10, 2015.
- Impress the Google team with your creative idea for the PMO app. You can stand a chance to be among the five developer teams with the best designs will be invited to build an app under the mentorship of Google.
The initiative taken up by Narendra Modi in partnership with Google will boost up citizen engagement in India.
