HC to hear case on hiring junior civil judges today
Hyderabad: A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday decided to hear a case challenging appointments of junior civil judges along with a similar petition by an aspirant on to Wednesday.
The bench was dealing with a PIL by senior counsel Sarasani Satyam Reddy of the Hyderabad High Court seeking to grant stay on all further proceedings pursuant to the notification issued on February 1, 2014 and consequential notification dated February 5, 2015 for recruitment of 97 junior civil judges.
The petitioner asked the court to direct the authorities of the state and Central governments and the High Court to distribute the subordinate judicial officers and other judicial employees to both Telangana and AP states and thereafter make recruitments to the subordinate higher judicial service sector. The bench directed the Telangana government pleader to place all relevant records, including the material pertaining to interlocutory applications filed before the Supreme Court, and its order on the said issue, before it by Wednesday.
