Andhra Pradesh’s deal with Singapore riles YSRC

YSRC has criticised the AP government for depending on Singapore for the master plan

Hyderabad: The YSRC stepped up the ante against ruling the Telugu Desam a day ahead of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour of the AP capital area on March 3. YSRC has criticised the Andhra Pradesh government for depending on Singapore for the master plan and developing the capital. While the NDA’s slogan is ‘Make in India’, AP is heavily depending on Singapore, the YSRC said.

It alleged that though Singapore is not known as a world leader in infrastructure development, the Telugu Desam government was still favouring it. This leads to many doubts, the YSRC said. The party asked the state to ensure transparency in all deals.

Party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, “The Singaporean minister had categorically said, it is not his government, but private companies, that are taking up the capital building exercise for AP. This makes the deal sound more shady. The need to give details becomes imperative as the land has been acquired from reluctant farmers using various tactics, including coercion.”

She said Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will be touring two constituencies on March 3 to get answers to these questions.
