The rise of Prawin Pudi

Film editor Prawin Pudi has his hands full with plum projects

Prawin Pudi has made a name for himself as a film editor after successful films such as Atharintiki Daredi, Manam and Julayi. “After Intermediate, I joined as an assistant to Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao in 2000.

Later, I joined Marthand Venkatesh. After that, I worked with Pawan Kalyan for his films Johnny, Gudumba Shankar, Annavaram, Balu and Jalsa,” says Prawin. “But my first individual opportunity came with Akasa Ramanna in 2010,” he says, adding that his big break was Julayi, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. “I started as an associate editor with Trivikram’s Jalsa. Then I worked with him for Kaleja. Once I started working alone he gave me the chance to work for Julayi,” he says.

About his upcoming projects, he says that Nithiin’s Courier Boy Kalyan is ready for release. “I am going to work with Nagarjuna for his upcoming film Soggade Chinni Nayana and in the Allu Arjun film Son of Satyamurthy,” he says.
