Dip in temperatures dash hopes of relief from H1N1
The strong winds, cloudy weather and rain could trigger another bout of swine flu
Hyderabad: The sudden dip in temperatures has dashed the hopes of medical experts who were expecting a marked reduction in H1N1 cases with the days getting hotter.
The strong winds, cloudy weather and rain could trigger another bout of swine flu cases, they said. Dr K. Narsimulu, nodal officer at Gandhi Hospital, said, “Low temperatures are most suitable for the virus to thrive. The cold weather, allows the virus to sustain longer. Nature is giving indications that there is going to be another round of flu cases next week. For this reason, it is important for people to continue taking precautions.” On Sunday, 35 people suspected to have swine flu were undergoing treatment at the Gandhi Hospital.
