Guntur: The Andhra Pradesh government has swiftly completed the Hercu-lean task of land collection and is preparing to lay the foundation stone in May this year to complete the first phase of the new capital by June 2018.
CRDA vice-chairman and minister for municipal administration, P. Narayana said that 32,100 acres of land pooling is a world record and thanked landowners/farmers and officials who worked for it. He added that foundation stone for the new capital would be laid in May and by June 2018, the first phase of the new capital will be completed.
TD leaders and activists are happy over the swift completion of land collection for new capital under LPS. The CRDA has collected 32,100 acres of lands till Sunday morning. Besides this, CRDA is continuing collection of the lands on Sunday and they are hopeful of completing the 34,000 acres target.
Earlier, CRDA vice-chairman and minister P. Narayana, on Saturday night announced closure of CRDA offices from Sunday morning but all these offices worked on Sunday on the request of local TD leaders to complete the land target.
The landowners/farmers of Venkatapalem continued submission of 9.2 willingness forms, which increased land collection to 32,100 acres.
TD state secretary, B. Narasimha Rao said that revised LPS package largely attracted the landowners/farmers hence locals of Raya-pudi, Mandadam, Venkatapalem, Linga-yapalem, Nowluru, Yerrabalem, Kuragallu, Nidamarru and other anti-LPS villages rushed to the CRDA offices to offer their lands.
