SRK takes on Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranbir steps back

The Christmas of 2015 will see yet another clash of the titans
The Christmas of 2015 will see yet another clash of the titans, this time played out by Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Rohit Shetty’s yet untitled film featuring SRK, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and probably Kajol (she hasn’t signed the contract yet) is all set for a December 23 release along with SLB’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani.
The last time these two had locked horns at the box office was in the Diwali of 2007 when Bhansali’s Saawariya released alongside SRK’s Om Shanti Om. Not so pleasant words were exchanged between the two at that time.
Now it appears that the impending box office battle might tear apart the recently renewed SRK-SLB dosti. Says a source, “The two had lately reconciled their differences ever since they fell out during their Devdas days. Shah Rukh was at Sanjay’s Padma Shri party. Sanjay had no idea about Shah Rukh’s plans to release his film suddenly on the same Friday as Bajirao Mastani.”
The source says Bajirao Mastani will stick to its December 25 release in spite of an SRK bomb scare. But Sajid Nadiadwala has wisely decided to pull out his prestigious Tamasha from the Christmas slot. The film will now release sometime in March 2016. Says a source close to Nadiadwala, “There is no sense in this kind of clash. One or the other film is bound to suffer. Our film Tamasha is delicate, sensitive and thought provoking. Sajid doesn’t want to put it up against an SRK-Shetty entertainer. We don’t know about Bhansali. But we’re out of here.”
