IPL spot-fixing case: N Srinivasan says sorry to Supreme Court
New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president-in-exile N Srinivasan apologised to the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday for his presence in a BCCI working committee meeting. He breached court orders that asked him not to deal with the cricket board till his “conflict of interest” charges were cleared.
Kapil Sibal, Srinivasan’s lawyer, told SC that Srinivasan will not be a part of the BCCI AGM to be held on March 2.
Hence, it is also established that he is not likely to contest the BCCI elections as well. The ICC chairman was keen on a second term as Board president.
Earlier on Monday, the SC came down heavily on Srinivasan for his participation in the BCCI meeting saying that he was "vulnerable" after the verdict in the Indian Premier League (IPL) case that found him in a "conflict of interest" situation.
