Maharashtra government to pay Rs 1 crore to MSRTC for transporting prisoners
Payment is part of Rs 3.08 crore, the state owes to MSRTC
Mumbai: Maharashtra government has decided to pay the state road transport corporation Rs 1.01 crore as charges for transporting jail staff and prisoners between 2006-07 and 2013-14.
The payment is part of the Rs 3.08 crore, the state owes to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), towards transportation cost, a government resolution said.
The then vice chairman and managing director of MSRTC had written to the government in 2013 in this regard, it said.
