He was blackmailing girls after a physical relationship with them

Visakhapatnam: The city police on Thursday, arrested a city based 50-year-old Anglo- Indian fitness trainer, for allegedly blackmailing girls to extort money after establishing physical relations with them. According to sources, the accused was arrested with the help of Ken Foundation, an NGO.
The accused has been identified as Alex Benette, 50. Police sources said Benette would trap the girls under the pretext of being in love with them and then establish physical relationships with them. He would film the act secretly. Later, he would blackmail the victims demanding mo-ney and threaten to make the videos public.
Benette had blackmailed over 30 women and collected more than Rs 10 lakh from them. The matter came to light during a meeting of the NGO, where one of the victims revealed her ordeal.
It is learnt that some other women also revealed that they went through the same ordeal at the hands of the accused. The victims, along with an NGO representative, met the police commissioner and lodged a complaint.
