Hyderabad: Digvijay Singh’s team won the Pro-Am event of the Golconda Masters golf championship being played at the Hyderabad Golf Club on Wednesday. Digvijay’s team comprised amateurs Vikram Dev Rao, Srikanth Rao and O.P. Modi, who emerged victorious with 51 points. The event was played in the Team Scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. Mukesh Kumar’s team comprising amateurs Ghouse Mohiuddin, Mohan Tayel and Amit Khaitan were second (51.1 points).
Hyderabad’s Arjun Pradipak won the longest drive on hole No.3. Arjun, son of City’s sailing pioneer C.S. Pradipak who passed away in August 2013, hit a drive that landed at a distance of 286 yards.
Ghouse Mohiuddin made a hole-in-one on No.10 to win the prize for the closest to the pin. Navjay Jaiswal collected the prize for the straightest drive on Hole No. 15. He landed it at a distance of one foot and four inches from the centre of the fairway.
