Ministers go scot-free in Indiramma housing scam
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is tightening the noose on employees of housing and revenue departments for their involvement in the irregularities in the Indiramma Housing scheme while leaving out politicians and public representatives on whose recommendations the houses were allegedly sanctioned to beneficiaries.
Interestingly, the previous Congress government, which had ordered a probe earlier, had also suspended 490 officials and dismissed another 285 employees. Officials and employees are, however, claiming that they had no role in selecting beneficiaries as the selections were done by local ministers and MLAs at district and constituency levels and they had only implemented orders. CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao had ordered a CBI probe into the housing scam last July.
