Guntur Seshu’s B’town connection
The Hindi film Ab Tak Chappan 2 that stars Nana Patekar has a Telugu connection — K.M.R. Seshu who provided the background score and sound design for the film.
“Ram Gopal Varma recommended me for the Hindi film and I worked on its background score,” says Seshu who did all the sound recording in Hyderabad. Seshu who hails from Guntur was raised in Hyderabad and has a family that is totally into music. “When I was working on a private album, director Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao came to my studio. He saw my work and asked me if I could work on the music for Nee Thodu Kavali,” says Seshu.
After that Seshu worked for small films and advertisements. Then he went on to work with RGV and did the background score for his horror films Ice Cream, Ice Cream 2 and Anukshanam. “The background score for horror films is a big challenge. I have to scare people with my music!” he says.
Seshu is eagerly waiting for this film’s release which is slated for this Friday. About his “specialty” he says: “I go to the location and discuss with the director about what type of music he wants. This helps the producers as they do not have to send raw copies, budgets are kept under control and there are no worries of copies being leaked,” he says.
Seshu now has RGV’s upcoming project with Manoj and another film Singam 123 produced by Vishnu Manchu in hand. “I am also working on the classic film Shiva which will have something new on the music scene,” he says.
