Telangana: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao curbs media at C block in Secretariat

Telangana govt had mooted the proposal to ban the entry of media into the Secretariat

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday imposed restrictions on the media at the C Block in the Secretariat, where the Chief Minister’s Office is located.
Journalists waiting at the office of the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) in the C Block were asked to leave the premises immediately.

The Chief Minister’s security personnel sent journalists outside the block stating that they received instructions from “higher-ups” not to allow the media in C Block.

The Telangana State government had mooted the proposal to ban the entry of media into the Secretariat on Friday, February 20, which had created a furore. Journalists’ unions had strongly opposed the move, forcing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to hold a meeting with journalists the next day.
