Anxious families wait for information

Ambulances kept arriving one by one at the hospital till night bringing in burnt and skinless bodies

HYDERABAD: The scene outside the emergency ward of the Apollo Health City in Jubilee Hills was one of despair and desperation as relatives of blast victims waited in anticipation to hear about their loved ones from the doctors.

Ambulances kept arriving one by one at the hospital till night bringing in burnt and skinless bodies of the blast victims accompanied by relatives.

G. Arjun, brother of G. Purushottam, 21, one of the victims in the blast said, tears in his eyes, “I told him many times not to work in the factory and put his life at risk but he did not listen. I had even got him a job at Abids in a retail store as a sales assistant but he did not work there for long as our house is in Moosapet.

He worked at the factory because it was near our home. We were planning to get him married this year. Purushottam told me that as soon as the blast occurred he ducked under a heavy vehicle and hence was not injured much.” Arjun said Purushottam had burns on his face and chest along with shattered bones.
