Travelling ticket examiners attack railway police personnnel

TTE of the coach asked the trio to get down from the AC coach

Vellore: Three railway police personnel were attacked by three Travelling Ticket Examiners in Jolarpet in the early hours of Monday. Following repeated complaints of chain-snatching and women harassment incidents in the AC coaches, the railway police planned to depute police in AC coaches.

On Monday, the Bangalore Mail train arrived Jolarpet around 1.10 am, where three railway police personnel, Manivasagam (25), Ravichandran (25), both from Chennai, and Lakshmi (27), from Arakkonam, got into the coach. Sources said the TTE of the coach asked the trio to get down from the AC coach as they are not eligible to travel by it.

But, the trio said they were deputed to do the duty in the AC coach. As the trio was forced to alight, they were said to have asked for a written note from the TTE. This grew into a big fight after two more TTEs joined and attacked the police personnel.
