SSLC results likely to be delayed
Kochi: The SSLC results, declared in a record 19 days last year on April 16, are set to be delayed this time with the Pareeksha Bhavan making tardy progress.
Uploading of the continuous evaluation (CE) marks to its website is yet to take place though its window was to be open two weeks back. It had also set a February 28 deadline for finishing the process.
The IT labs in schools cannot be used for the work as the IT exams begin on Monday. The exams will continue in a staggered manner till March 3.
Teachers will have to be relieved for duty on March 7 for the SSLC Exams beginning on March 9. Hence, there is hardly much time left to complete the process. Already, the datasheet uploading had landed in trouble.
It is to be seen how datasheet uploading is completed without errors. Uploading of CE marks is crucial as it appears in the SSLC book along with the final marks. The process was delayed due to the confusion in the datasheet entry.
In another interesting development, the Bhavan has given up the idea of online tabulation of marks from the valuation camps across the state this time, owing to a protest by its contract staff, it is learnt.
Last year, they were divested of the job and for the first time the online tabulation was introduced because of which the results could be announced early. This time, the manual process will consume more time.
The Pareeksha Bhavan this time is also courting troubles at every point. The CDs of Monday's SSLC IT exam were found corrupt when they were taken out for installation on computers in schools on Friday.
They were either blank or did not function. The teachers were then directed to copy the question paper in pen drives from a handful of centres where the CDs worked and install at other schools, compromising on secrecy and credibility.
It's understood that the IT@School gave the CDs to the Pareeksha Bhavan without errors, but it failed to write the CDs properly.
