Hyderabad: The Telangana government referred the prime properties identified by the Hyderabad collectorate to the chief commissioner of Land Administration for scrutiny.
The scrutiny revealed that only 9.20 acres spread over seven mandals in 42 locations in the city have clear titles and are undisputed, and can be auctioned immediately. It estimated that the government could easily earn Rs 225 crore through their sale.
Shaikpet mandal, which covers the posh Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, stood at the top with 23,670 sq.yards, which is estimated to fetch Rs 185 crore.
Land in the other six mandals — Khairatabad, Musheerabad, Saidabad, Secunderabad, Amberpet and Asifnagar would fetch only Rs 40 crore. The pieces of land here are smaller, ranging from 420 square yards to 18,800 square yards.
“The government has the given green signal to auction these nine acres. A notification is expected any time now,” said a senior official of the revenue department. The department has been asked to locate more such pieces of land, he said
Following this, the department has started the hunt for tracing undisputed lands located in prime areas. The preliminary survey found that there could be another 14 acres of undisputed land in the city, which can guarantee revenues of up to Rs 350 crore.
