Sexual harassment case: RK Pachauri withdraws bail application from Delhi High Court
New Delhi: TERI Director-General RK Pachauri, who is facing sexual harassment allegations by a woman employee, has withdrawn his bail application from Delhi High Court and is likely to move the trial court for relief. The bail application filed by Pachauri before Justice SP Garg was deleted from the cause list as he has to seek the relief from the trial court.
High Court staff said that Pachauri's bail application was listed by fault as he had already been asked by the judge to move a trial court for regular bail while granting him interim protection till today.
Justice Garg, on February 19, had given interim protection from arrest to Pachauri after he moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail on apprehension that during investigation police might take him in custody. While passing the order earlier the court had disposed of his application following which he has to move the bail plea before the appropriate judge of trial court.
On February 19, the High Court had modified its earlier order restraining media houses from publishing allegations made against The Energy and Resources Institute's (TERI) Director-General, Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, by a woman research analyst of the city-based think tank. Pachauri, while seeking an injunction against media from publishing the matter, had denied all the allegations and said he has been a victim of hacking.
