Only nine acres to auction in Hyderabad; prime state land stuck in disputes
Hyderabad: Only nine acres of undisputed land is available in the Hyderabad for the Telangana government to auction and raise funds. Another 40 acres, which have been identified by the district collector and tahsildars, are stuck in legal disputes and cannot be sold right away.
The government wants to make a provision in the coming Budget, on March 11, to raise money by selling land. In the Budget presented in November last, the government had proposed to raise Rs 6,000 crore by selling land but found nothing that it could auction immediately.
Following this, the government asked the revenue department to identify prime land in the city which can attract buyers and guarantee huge revenues. The Hyderabad collectorate identified prime properties and submitted a list to the government.
