Kejriwal, Sisodia to join Anna Hazare's dharna against Land Acquisition ordinance
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia on Monday met social activist Anna Hazare and said that they will join the latter's protest against the government's Land Acquisition ordinance on February 24.
Stating that Hazare was like a 'father' for them, Sisodia said that the two Delhi leaders will sit in protest at the Jantar Mantar after attending the legislative assembly proceedings.
"We met Anna Hazare after a long time. He is like a father to us. We discussed the dangers the Land Acquisition ordinance poses for the farmers. Tomorrow, Arvind ji and I will join Anna ji at the Jantar Mantar and sit on dharna in protest for the same," Sisodia said.
Hazare wants the Government to take back the Land Ordinance bill and look out for ways to improve the condition of farmers. The social activist had earlier lashed out at the BJP-led government for removing provisions, which provided for taking the farmers' consent before acquiring their land.
