INCAP plans to develop three convention centres
Hyderabad: The Infrastructure Corporation of AP has issued ‘expression of interest’ for three mega convention centres one each at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
The mega convention centres will be developed on vacant lands on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer basis under public private partnership model. In Visakhapatnam and Tirupati, the convention centres would be spread over 70-100 acres and they will have allied units like five star hotels, shopping malls, leisure/amusement parks and food courts.
They are expected to play a key role in attracting industrialists, academicians, tourists etc. In Vijayawada, the AP government said the mega convention centre will be developed in an area of 30-50 acres.
The Convention centre will have a seating capacity of 3,000 to 5,000 persons, a three star category hotels and food courts. The applicants shall submit their proposals by March 17.
