Hyderabad: Tukaram Gate police arrested one driver of Maruti Travels in East Marredpally for stealing a car. The driver, who was assigned to pick up a passenger, fled with the car. He had planned to sell it and spend the money.
The accused is Sanaparaju Venkatrao, alias Raju. He is a 42-year-old resident of Palvancha, Khammam district. G. Sudheer Babu, North Zone DCP, said, Venkatrao had been working with the travel agency for eight months.
In the morning of February 12, he took the car from the garage in East Marredpally. He was supposed to pick up a passenger from Baghlingampally. “Instead of picking up the passenger, he roamed around and the next day, went to Palvancha in Khammam district. Based on suspicion, a special team rushed to Palwancha and arrested him,” the DCP said. The car was recovered.
