PM Modi steals show in Parivar’s party
Lucknow: The PM attended the tilak ceremony of Tej Pratap Yadav, grandnephew of Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, who will be marrying Mr Lalu Yadav’s youngest daughter Raj Lakshmi in Delhi next week.
Though the wedding is being touted as the coming together of the Janata Parivar, it was Mr Modi who stole the show. The Prime Minister, who reached Saifai around 10.45 am along with UP Governor Ram Naik, was received by the two Yadav leaders.
Seated between Mr Mulayam Yadav and Mr Lalu Yadav on the dais, the Prime Minister posed for keepsake photographs with other family members, including the children of UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, and then showered petals on the groom-to-be. The crowds went into a tizzy on seeing the Prime Minister on stage and hundreds of mobile phones could be seen furiously clicking pictures.
Tej Pratap later said that no politics should be seen in the Prime Minister’s visit. A visibly happy Lalu Yadav told reporters, “I am glad that my daughter’s marriage is a much-talked about affair in the entire country. Mulayam Singh has not demanded single paisa (dowry) for the marriage because our hearts have met.”
