The police has arrested two persons for cheating a man by promising money for his son’s treatment
Hyderabad: The police has arrested two persons for cheating a man by promising money for his son’s treatment. The accused contacted the victim after seeing an advertisement seeking help.
The culprits claimed that they were working at the CM’s office and told him they would get him money from the CM's relief fund. The accused have been identified as Gudla Kumar, 45 and Errolla Praveen Kumar, 22.
Police said the complainant was asked by Kumar to deposit Rs 5000 in a SBI account to get Rs1lakh for his son’s treatment which he did. "The next day he called again and asked him to deposit Rs 5,000 in a SBI account for depositing the promised money with the hospital.
When he later contacted the accused he was asked to come to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills. When he went there with his son the authorities informed him no deposit was made. The phones too were switched off," said a police official.
