Senior inspector suspended for graft

Police commissioner CV Anand suspended SI V Srinivasa Rao in a land dispute case
Hyderabad: An SI of the Madhapur police station allegedly colluded with a party in a land dispute and was suspended. Cyberabad police commissioner C.V. Anand suspended SI V. Srinivasa Rao for helping a person named J. Raghuveer in a land dispute case by illegally arresting his opponent in 2014.
Mr C.V. Anand said the SI did not investigate the case properly. Sources said the dispute was between one Mr J. Raghuveer and a person named V. Sudhakar Reddy over a 260 square yard plot in Madhapur. The case was going on since 2012.
And at least three separate cases were registered with the Madhapur police last year following complaints. However, it appeared that despite knowing the facts the SI sided with one party.
"Since Cyberabad already has a Standard Operating Procedure in land cases the SI was not supposed to arrest one of the parties. He arrested Mr Reddy in order to help the other party," said a police official.
