25 AIS officers await postings
Some sit idle, while others are busy with additional charges
Hyderabad: About 25 All India Service Officers (AIS) including IAS and IPS officers are sitting idle for around a month at their homes. After final allotment of AIS officers the AP government did not give postings to about 25 officers. Some of them are visiting office daily to know about postings.
While 25 officers are sitting idle without any post some officers are busy holding additional charges. Seven IAS and 10 IPS officers are waiting for posting since a month. Chief Minister Naidu has no time to decide postings for these officers due to his busy schedule.
According to the AP general administration department the IAS officers awaiting postings are Satyanarayana, Sridhar, Papireddy, Usha Kumari, Vikas Raj, Rajat Kumar and D. Srinivasulu. Except Srinivasulu all other IAS officers were allotted to AP from Telangana.
AP officials said IAS officers Rajat Kumar and Usha Kumari are likely to go back to Telangana government. They opted for Telangana government and the Centre may accept their request.
Meanwhile, 10 IPS officers were allotted to AP from Telangana in the final allotment but they were not given any post. There are some IFS and IRS officers who are waiting for posts.
Officials said the IAS or IPS officers who were not given posts need not come to the secretariat every day until the Chief Secretary insists on that. Without giving any post the government is paying salaries to these officers.
